Who is this course for?
This qualification will benefit those who are entering the workplace for the first time, either as part of a work experience programme or at the start of employment, by providing an awareness of key health and safety issues and the part that they should play in keeping themselves and others free from harm at work. It will also benefit those who are interested in Health and Safety.

What will I learn?
A first level course used to introduce low risk staff to the responsibilty for Health and Safety.The importance of health and safety in the workplace. The scope of hazards and risks in the workplace. A range of workplace conditions that can affect health and safety. The requirements relating to reporting, first aid, personal protection and personal hygiene.The qualification covers the following topics: Legislation, Health, Safety, Welfare, The workplace and workplace equipment, Risk assessment, Manual Handling, Hazardous substances, Ergonomics and workstation design, Transport and vehicles, Noise and vibration.
Assessment
The course concludes with a multiple choice test.
