Centre Training is the commercial training division of The College Ystrad Mynach and offers an extensive range of training and development from the Tredomen Business & Technology Centre in the Caerphilly County Borough.
Between Centre Training and The College Ystrad Mynach we have over 50 years’ experience in delivering quality, industry specific training to both local and national businesses, tailored to the needs of the local economy and industry. Most recent clients include British Airways, Mollertech, Caerphilly County Borough Council, Visqueen Building Products and Lenstec. Training can be delivered at our training rooms in the Tredomen Business & Technology Centre, The College, your business premises or a suitable venue of your choosing.

Dianne Turner – Business Relationship Manager
BSC Economics, PGCE
Dianne has worked for The College since 1990 initially teaching in Business and Economics. Dianne helped set up the Business Development section of The College in 1998 and now heads the commercial arm of The College. Her role sees her advising companies on their training and development issues, sales and curriculum development.
Pat Smith – Health & Safety Trainer and Assessor
Certificate of Education, CIEH Advanced Food Safety and Health & Safety, NVQ Level 4 Management and Learning Development
Pat is a qualified teacher with many years’ experience in industry and training. Pat has experience in operational management where she ensured that professional development of all personnel was a priority.
Dean Howells – IT Solutions Manager
BSc Mathematics, PGCE, HNC Business Information Technology, ECDL Expert, Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS)
Dean is responsible for the College’s online learning / Learndirect provision as well as teaching on high level IT courses.
Dave James – First Aid Trainer and Assessor
PGCE, A1 Assessors Award, Association of First Aiders, Institute of Leadership and Management
Dave James holds extensive qualifications in First Aid and is an experienced assessor and trainer for the transport industry.
Caroline Connelly – NVQ Co-ordinator and Assessor
BA Cert Ed, PGCE, A1 Assessor Award and Verifier Award, NVQ Level 4 Business and Administration
Caroline has worked for The College for over 6 years, firstly within the ILT section of The College before managing one of our successful IT Training Centres. Caroline teaches and assesses for Business and Management courses for Centre Training and The College.
Al Koursaros – Management Development and Training
BSC Applied Economics, Masters in Business Administration, PGCE
Al has extensive experience of management and retail, working in management and training for a major British supermarket. Al delivers on the Chartered Management Institute and the Institute of Leadership and Management Awards.
