The College @ Large offers learning opportunities throughout Caerphilly County Borough. The range of courses on offer has been designed by the local communities reflecting people’s wants and needs for skills to regenerate their community. The learning takes place in local facilities such as church halls, local libraries, YMCA’s, primary schools, community centres and resource centres. There are a variety of courses on offer, including:-
Basic ICT
Crafts
Creative writing
Digital photography
Embroidery
English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)
Essential skills
Watercolours
Welsh
This provision offers learning to those who have often never experienced any educational opportunities or have not engaged in learning for many years. Classes are small and informal allowing students to improve their skills base at their own pace. The community currently has over 1000 enrolments and with such a flexible provision learners continue to join classes.
