
If you are employed more than 16 hours a week, an Apprenticeship could be for you. You will get top quality training, develop your skills and gain qualifications on the job.
As an employee you will earn a wage and work alongside experienced staff to gain job specific skills. You will attend college once a week, training towards a nationally recognised qualification. Apprenticeships are open to all learners aged 16 years of age.
Foundation Modern Apprenticeship (Level 2)
You will work towards a QCF-NVQ Diploma Level 2 in your chosen vocational area and essential skills. You will attend college one day a week with the remainder of the week with your employer. You will be assigned a work based assessor who will visit you in your workplace and monitor your progress. The Foundation Modern Apprenticeship usually takes 2 years to complete, on completion you are able to progress to a level 3 qualification.
Modern Apprenticeship (Level 3)
You will work towards a QCF-NVQ Diploma level 3 in your chosen vocational area and essential skills. You will be required to attend college one day a week with the remainder of the week with your employer. You will be assigned a work based assessor who will visit you in your workplace and monitor your progress. The Modern Apprenticeship usually takes 2 years to complete.
After completing the Modern Apprenticeship at level 3 you could move onto a level 4 qualification or Higher Education courses at University or The College Ystrad Mynach.
Higher Apprenticeship (Level 4)
The Higher Apprenticeship is a work based programme for employed people working in a management role. This programme provides opportunities for you to improve your skills and knowledge at NVQ Level 4.
