How to Apply

ENROLMENT 2010

Applications for courses starting in September 2010 are now open.

Step 1 - Check out our Courses Guide or Website

By looking at this website you have already achieved the first step to joining The College Ystrad Mynach.

This website and our School Leavers and General Courses Guide are packed with information on our courses and also all the added benefits of studying at The College.

Search our list of courses here. We have tried to answer any questions that you may have within these site pages but if there is anything that we have missed or you would like help in deciding which course is suitable for you please call our admissions team on 01443 810054 or email enquiries@ystrad-mynach.ac.uk

Step 2 - Fill in an Application Form

Once you have decided which course you would like to apply for you need to complete an application form.This can be done either online or by downloading a paper based application and returning via post in the address shown on the application form.

To complete an online application form simply perform a course search in the search box towards the top right hand side of this page.Upon selecting a course to view its course information simply click on More Info / Apply at the bottom of the page and in the window that appears select Add to Application.

Many of our most popular courses are often full by March so please make sure you return your application form to us as early as possible to avoid disappointment.

Step 3 - Attend an interview

Interviews for courses enrolling September 2010 will start from February 2010. The interview gives you the chance to meet the tutor and ask any questions that you have about the course and to discuss any support needs that you have.You will also undertake a short literacy and numeracy skills assessment.

Step 4 - Offer

After your interview we will normally send you an offer, providing suitable places are available.  The College aims to ensure that all applicants are placed on courses suitable to their level of learning, if we feel that your original choice of course is not suitable to you we endeavour to find you a place on another course. You must contact us in writing to confirm acceptance of your place.

Step 5 - Enrolment

Enrolment dates for courses starting in September 2010 will be announced here.You will need to come into College to fill in your enrolment form, apply for any grants, travel or meals allowance and also to have your photograph taken for your student badge. If you are claiming free meals you will need to bring proof of benefits to enrolment.

What do I need to bring to Enrolment?

If you are in receipt of benefits and claiming discounted fees, please bring evidence of your eligibility (benefit information).

If your employer is paying for your fees, please bring a letter from your employer stating this fact. When paying by cheque please bring a bankers or cheque guarantee card. All cheques are to be made to Ystrad Mynach College. We also accept all major credit cards.
