Important notice for current students regarding Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) Immunisation

For all current students aged 16-25

Dear Student,

You will be aware of the outbreak of measles in the Swansea area.  College students in Gwent are potentially susceptible to this highly infectious, serious disease. This is due to the poor uptake of the MMR vaccination in the past and the level of protection from measles is lower in older teenagers than in those of younger children.

A temporary MMR immunisation programme is therefore being arranged in colleges over the next few weeks for students who have not previously received a first or second dose. If you have NOT received two MMR vaccinations, then please attend the vaccination session at your college.

The College Ystrad Mynach– Friday 10th May 11-00am to 3-00pm

Please would you complete the consent form and bring it with you on the day. [Available here]

Further information is available via the following link:

If you have attended your GP or an emergency clinic for this immunisation you do not need to be included in the college programme

Yours faithfully
