Hairdressing and Beauty students at The College Ystrad Mynach proved their skills recently, with an impressive crop of 14 awards at the Welsh AHT Hairdressing Competition.
The event, held at Swansea College was attended by Hair and Beauty students throughout Wales, with Ystrad Mynach Students scooping top prizes in Evening Style Hairdressing (School Link), Men’s Commercial Cut and Finish, Catwalk Make-Up Haute Couture and the team presentation producing hairstyle, make-up and a dance performance. Second prizes were awarded for students in Evening Style Hairdressing (School Link), Blow Dry, Ladies Evening style with hair extensions, Face Painting and Catwalk Make-Up Haute Couture. The College rounded up its impressive haul by gaining third prize in Evening Style Hairdressing (School Link).
“The Competition is fantastic for increasing the student’s confidence and also shows them what they can gain from the industry,” said Martine Lewis of The College Ystrad Mynach. “The AHT competitions are extremely prestigious award for The College and its students to win, and they should be proud of what they have achieved. This is a great start to all of their careers”.
The winning students will now be travelling to Blackpool for the British finals in March.
