
The College Ystrad Mynach Football Academy has been formed in partnership with Cardiff City Football Club. To qualify for the Academy, players must be aged between 16-18 on 31st August 2011.
As part of the partnership agreement, player’s progress will be monitored on a weekly basis by Cardiff City Football Club, who will provide a coach for Academy players at the College on a weekly basis.
In addition to studying one of the full time courses players will:
• Receive four hours per week football coaching with a qualified ‘A’ Licence football coach employed by The College Ystrad Mynach
• Receive two hours per week coaching with a qualified ‘A’ Licence football coach employed by Cardiff City Football Club
• Play competitive games on a Wednesday afternoon for The College Ystrad Mynach in formal, organised national league and cup competitions.
• Have the opportunity to train with Cardiff City Football Club Academy squads at Treforest
• Receive treatment for injuries from a qualified physiotherapist (when necessary) employed by Cardiff City Football Club
• Receive sports science support from University of Glamorgan
• Have the opportunity to represent the Wales Colleges (Under 19) Team

The College Ystrad Mynach's Football Academy take part in the British College's Welsh and West Division, The College play their home games at Aberaman Atheltic Football Club, Aberaman Park, Aberaman, CF44 6AA.
