Who is this course for?

This course is designed for anyone interested in secretarial/clerical work at foundation level.

Entry requirements & Application

No formal qualifications required, however entry onto the course is subject to interview and BKSB assessment in Literacy and Numeracy.

What will I learn?

On this one year course you will achieve NVQ Admin Level 1 and Welsh Baccalaureate Foundation. In addition you will gain a sound knowledge and experience of keyboarding skills, Text and Word Processing, Enterprise and Business Skills.An essential part of your study is to gather evidence and learn skills in a real office environment for a minimum period of one week. This is carried out either in local industry or at the College @ Centres.You will complete up to 6 key skills and Learn Direct modules.

Assessment

Continuous assessment will take place throughout the year leading to qualifications in Business Administration, Welsh Baccalaureate and Key Skills. You will also be encouraged to gain qualifications by sitting exams in text and word processing.

On Completion Achievement / Progression

You can either obtain a job as an office junior, or you may be eligible to progress to the level 2 course.
